This course is related to the servicing and repair of domestic electrical and electronic consumer products including flat screen TVs, audio video products, washing machines, dryers, refrigerators etc.

Course content

Learners will complete 3 compulsory, 1 practical and 1 theory unit over the duration of the course, as listed below:

  • Health and Safety Legislation
  • Customer Care
  • Environmental Legislation
  • Electrical and Electronic Principles
  • Practical Repairs

Particular attention will be given to the practical and technical aspects of the course.

Delivery & Assessment methods

Course delivery will take place at either the Matthew Boulton or James Watt Campus. Full time courses will take 1 year to complete, whilst apprenticeship and part time courses will take 2 years on a day release basis, to meet your Company requirements. Assessment is completed via online exams and practical tasks within the College and the workplace.

Progression

On achievement of the Level 2 qualification, progression to the Level 3 course is available.
