What You Will Study

The assessment process for this course is continuous and conducted by using the following process. Formative Assessment for 80% of the course. This process will involve assessment for learning’, whenever you take part in any learning your development will be assessed followed by verbal and written feedback.

During this stage there is a ‘no fail’ policy. You may however be removed for continuous or serious safety infringements, discipline or where a student’s development is such that it hinders the progress of the rest of the group, such an instance would where a student requires continuous one to one coaching.

Terminal Summative Assessment for the final 20% of the course. This process will involve ‘assessment of learning’, a demonstration of competence by the student in all of the areas of previous learning. The student will not receive feedback until they have completed all of the summative assessment scenarios.

You must achieve a satisfactory mark in all the competencies and final assessments to pass the course.

ASSUMPTIONS

The course assessment will be as objective as possible: personalities, stereotypes, personal prejudice will play no part in the assessment process. The assessments are honest, fair and most of all based on relevant evidence.

The assessment scheme will be open. This means that you will have open access to all documentation concerning you.

Assessment will be honest without being destructive. It is vital that you are able to receive honest, objective feedback about your actions.
