Course Description
Defra and EU regulations mean that those who transport animals in connection with an economic activity need to have a certificate confirming that they are competent to do so. There are 2 levels of certification:
- Short journey - over 65 km/40miles but under 8 hrs duration **(£75.00, plus £20.00 for every specie)
- Long journey - over 65k/40 miles and over 8 hrs duration (£160.00)
We offer on-line multiple choice computer-based assessment for the NPTC Short Journey certificate. This covers knowledge of the following:
- risk assessments and legal requirements
- responsibilities when transporting animals
- planning a short journey by road
- suitability of the vehicle

- space allowances, stocking densities and segregation requirements
