Who is this course for? Adults aged 19+ recovering from mental health difficulties that are at a stage in their recovery where they are able to benefit from being and studying at college. This module is one of many on our Community Link course. Students are expected to choose a selection of modules to make up a full programme. What qualifications or experience do I need ? People should be at a stage in their recovery where they are ready to make a commitment to the course, attend regularly and be able to cope with the college environment. What will I study ? This module is one of many on our Community Link course. Students are expected to choose a selection of modules to make up a full programme. What qualifications or experience do I need ? People should be at a stage in their recovery where they are ready to make a commitment to the course, attend regularly and be able to cope with the college environment. What will I study ? You will be able to discuss mathematical ideas and problems with students at the same level as yourself and, of course, the tutor and support assistant. Topics include arithmetic; handling money; units of measurement; shape and space; and tables and charts. How will I be assessed ? By an examinations. There will be opportunities to re-sit. What qualifications could I achieve ? Functional Skills Maths Levels E1-E3. What can the course lead to ? Progression to mainstream courses, training,, volunteering and/or paid work How do I join the course ? Initial contact should be made by a mental health professional or GP working with the applicant, who will return a referral form to the course organiser Will I need an interview ? Yes Are there any extra costs for equipment/materials ? Not for students from Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. There may be a termly charge for students living outside these boroughs. This is expected to be paid by your Community Mental Health Trust
