Who is this course for? The course is suitable for Electricians, Engineers and Contractors already working and willing to progress on in their professional. It is also for Electricians working towards qualified Electrician status. What qualifications or experience do I need ? Electricians with basic knowledge in electrical installations and a minimum of three years' work experience. Engineers, Designers and Contractors in a relevant field and who have 17th Edition. Electricians with very little experience must have 2330, 2357 or 2365 Level 3 or equivalent qualification together with 17 Edition. Engineers Designers and Contractors who have not got the 17th Edition can have the option of doing 17th Edition in parallel with this course. What will I study ? The principles, processes and practice of Inspection and Testing of new Installations together with the underpinning science/theory of Testing and Inspecting. Practical explanation of and skills in Inspection and Testing on different domestic, commercial and Industrial installations. How will I be assessed ? You will have three assessments: - Unit 301 On-line exam - Unit 302 Written exam - Unit 303 Practical Assignment What qualifications could I achieve ? A level 3 Award in the Initial Verification of Electrical Installations (City & Guilds 2394-01) What can the course lead to ? This will lead to a Level 4 Design and Verification of Electrical Installations 2396 How do I join the course ? You must complete an application form and make an appointment for an interview with a tutor. References may be required from your previous educational establishment. Will I need an interview ? You will need a formal interview to assess your needs and professional level. Are there any extra costs for equipment/materials ? All equipment will be provided by the College for this course but you may bring your own test equipment
