IMI L2 Dip in Body Paint Refinishing

Who is this course for? If you are good at art and want to learn how to produce those special paint effects on custom cars or repair accident damage to vehicles and learn how to weld this is the course for you. What qualifications or experience do I need ? Three GCSEs at grade A*-D or Level 1 in IMI Diploma in Vehicle Body Repair & Paint Refinishing or an alternative Level 1 qualification. A commitment to hard work and an interest in repairing and & painting vehicle bodywork. You will need to be good at working with your hands, drawing and practical subjects. What will I study ? Half the programme is practical in content in which you have to complete various practical assessments in order to pass. You will study for two separate awards Body Repair & Body refinishing. Trips out to relevant Body trade shows and exhibitions will also be part of the course How will I be assessed ? Assessment methods include: practical assessments, online testing and phase tests. A portfolio of evidence will also be required. Associated theory will also be given and this is assessed using computers and formal end tests. What qualifications could I achieve ? On successful completion of the course you may progress on to the BTEC National Diploma in Vehicle Repair & Technology Level 3 or the BTEC National Diploma in Motorsport Level 3 at Barnet and Southgate College. What can the course lead to ? This course will give you the practical & theoretical skills to repair and refinish vehicles damaged in accidents. and you could seek employment as a Body and Paint Technician How do I join the course ?
