If you plan to pursue a career in hairdressing, or want to learn how to provide this popular treatment then this is the course for you. This level 2 equivalent course will give you a broad base of knowledge and includes all the relevant health and safety requirements to become an effective practitioner within this vocational area.

You learn how to perform shampoo and blow dry services. You attend college one evening a week participating in classroom, practical and salon sessions to gain hands-on experience. You will be required to provide clients for assessment purposes.

how to follow health and safety practice in the salon
how to work with a variety of styling and finishing products
how to use a variety of heated appliances
how to create different blow-drying styling techniques
how to provide suitable aftercare advice

You attend college one evening a week, participating in classroom, practical and salon sessions to gain hands-on experience. Your timetable will have a mixture of theory and practical subjects in each year.

On successful completion you gain two units which can be put towards your NVQ Level 2 hairdressing qualification.

The course is open to motivated individuals who plan to pursue a career within the hairdressing industry. Your offer is subject to a short interview, full commitment to 100% attendance and a minimum of three hours home study a week (all of which are required to assure successful completion).

Upon successful completion of this course you can progress to the next QCF unit of the full level 2 qualification.
