Working in Partnership with Buckinghamshire New University, this course will be of great interest to those who are planning a career in, or who already work in, a range of settings within Early Years.

What Will I Learn

Foundation Degrees are designed principally to provide learning and professional development opportunities for adults who are currently either employed or working on a voluntary basis. Aimed at addressing the real needs of people working in an early years settings. The Foundation Degree can be completed in two years of study with part-time attendance at the College/University supplemented by learning in the workplace.

How Will I Be Assessed?

A range of assessment methods will be used, including written assignments, examinations, evidence-based portfolios and work-based project files.

Entry Requirements

You should be working with children aged 0 - 5 years in a supervisory position and have at least three years experience post-qualification. You should also hold a Level 3 Childcare qualification. Places will be offered subject to interview.

Additional Information

You will spend 7 hours per week at college.

Progression

Buckinghamshire New University offers a conversion course to the BA (Hones) Practice Development.

Career Opportunities

A typical mature graduate may wish to use the Degree for progression to obtaining Early Years Professional status in Teaching or Childcare careers.
