Diploma in Beauty Therapy

Introduction

You will develop the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills through assisting a qualified Beauty Therapist whilst you gain basic skills in the techniques. You will also develop the basic knowledge and skills required to work with colleagues and be compliant with health and safety requirements in the salon. This programme is aimed at students with a keen interest in the beauty industry.

You will develop the basic skills necessary to begin a career in the Beauty industry.

How Will I Be Assessed?

You will carry out a range of practical assessments within a commercial working environment. You will also collate theoretical evidence in the form of assignments, projects and tests.

Entry Requirements

You will already hold 2 GCSE Grade D or higher or a Level 1 Functional skills.

Additional Information

Students will need to purchase a Beauty Kit, uniform and text books at a cost of approximately £250. During the course there will be the opportunity to attend workshops and exhibitions at an approximate cost of £100.

Progression

The direct progression route is the Level 2 Beauty Therapy course.

Career Opportunities

Positions which would be open to you will include Beauty Therapy Assistant or Receptionist.
