Introduction
This one year programme is for students with moderate learning difficulties, who are 19+, although the minimum age is 16. The course is designed to be a stand-alone course for students looking towards employment or starting work. You can choose up to four courses from the Progressions options, depending on availability and suitability. Functional skills options include Maths, English and ICT.What Will I Learn
You will learn skills that will prepare you to work safely in Horticulture (gardening, working in greenhouses etc.) and basic care of horses, farm animals and pet animals.Example Modules

There are no minimum entry requirements, but you will need to show a high level of commitment to the programme. You will also need to attend an interview and will need to provide a reference.Additional Information
Students will have the opportunity to visit farms, garden centres, organic small holdings as well as working in the grounds and polytunnel at Aylesbury College.Progression
You may be able to progress to a Level 1 Diploma in Land-Based Studies.Career Opportunities
