Dressing methods and how to assemble abrasive wheels correctly and the functions of all components used with the wheels and suitable use of PPE.  

Objectives

On completion of the course, delegates will be able to recognise and deal with:

  • Legal requirements and duties of:  Employer and Employee
  • Hazards and risks arising from use of Abrasive Wheels
  • PUWER – Hierarchy of control
  • Risk Assessment
  • Safe places of work
  • Work equipment functions, inspection and maintenance of components such as: Flanges, Blotters, Bushes, Nuts
  • Assembly and dressing methods
  • PPE
  • Equipment Selection
  • Methods of marking abrasive wheels

Suitability

This course is suitable for all operators, supervisors and managers, who as part of their working duties select, mount, specify or use abrasive wheels as defined in (Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations) PUWER 1998.
