The aim of this course is to approach the question of religion rather than focus on the specifics of any one religion. The modern debate incorporates insight and challenge from philosophy and the sciences.
Successful students will actively enjoy and participate in the modern debate on religion, and value classroom discussion. They will be interested in developing their background knowledge in religion, though by no means need to have their own spiritual beliefs. They will relish the challenge of articulating ideas, arguments and perspectives in written form.

They will be interested in developing their background knowledge in religion, though by no means need to have their own spiritual beliefs. They will relish the challenge of articulating ideas, arguments and perspectives in written form.
As well as developing a student in an exciting area of knowledge, belief, faith and doubt, students will develop core academic disciplines. These include relating knowledge with accuracy and detail, thinking critically on deep, often abstract issues and formulating sophisticated and persuasive arguments. Study trips include conferences and workshops at prestigious universities and museums.
