Level: Level 3
Use of Mathematics was developed to enable the study of mathematical topics in practical, real-life contexts. This qualification will enable students who are taking non-Maths subjects such as humanities, arts, sport, business etc to have the opportunity to pursue practical and relevant mathematics courses to the same level as traditional GCE A Level Mathematics.
This specification is designed to encourage students to:
- apply mathematics to their studies, work or interests
- develop mathematical modelling, communication and reasoning skills and the ability to solve substantial, realistic and open-ended problems
