Overview

  • How well protected is your organisation against cyber crime?
  • How vigilant and trained are your employees?
  • How damaging would it be if you lost key business data such as financial plans, customer data, credit card information or bid proposals?

Cybercrime and information-security breaches are on the rise. From phishing scams and Trojan worms to laptops left on trains, businesses are increasingly at risk of data theft and security violations.

The size and scale of this threat is significant. Both Governments and commercial organisations are being targeted, and there has been an increase in the number of complete company collapses as a result of cyber security breaches.

No longer is the online adversary a lone hacker at home on his PC accessing business networks for fun, we are seeing a professionalisation of the hacking community. There has been a rise in targeted and persistent attacks on business networks, organised by professional gangs using highly sophisticated tools and techniques.

So, what can businesses do to protect themselves?

Cyber security is not just a technical problem which requires a technical solution. It is a management issue that needs to be driven from the top down to ensure complete employee vigilance.

The session will highlight the importance of equipping all employees with the skills they need to be able to be more aware and vigilant of online security threats.

The seminar will be delivered by QA's leading cyber security experts who work across commercial organisations and government departments to help combat cyber crime.

Who should attend?

This event is suitable for senior managers, business owners or c-level executives who want to learn more about the risks which cybercrime poses and the measures which can be put in place to address these risks.

The event does not assume a high level of technical knowledge, but is instead intended to provide an overview of the issues and hot topics around cyber security and information assurance.

The content is suitable for both public sector and commercial organisations.

This management seminar will provide an insight into the types of online threats that organisations face and how to protect against them.

Prerequisites

The event provides a top level overview of cyber security threats/issues and is not overly technical.
