Intended learning outcomesOn successful completion, you will be able to:
- Demonstrate a critical understanding of insulin types and action profiles
- Demonstrate a critical understanding of initiation and choice of insulin regimens including their interrelationship with oral glyceamics
- Demonstrate a critical understanding of blood glucose monitoring and its correlation with insulin dosage
- Critically evaluate the skills and essential education needed by a patient/client to use insulin to manage their diabetes
- Critically discuss the theories of self management over the lifespan including transition from paediatric to adult care
