This course provides an introduction to the principles and practice
of cinematography, editing and sound recording. It is suitable for
anyone who is interested in these areas, either as a career option

Study and discussion of screenings, supported by personal study, will give you a critical understanding of these media. The course will also enhance your personal skills and knowledge such as critical questioning, group work, presentation skills, creating a subject specific journal and constructing a portfolio.
You will learn through a mix of lectures, discussions, workshops, screenings, practical sessions and independent study. For successful completion of the course you will be required to complete two pieces of work ‚ a portfolio of cinematography and sound recording assignments; and a portfolio of editing assignments.
