End Qualification:
BTEC Extended Diploma in Production Arts
(equivalent to 3 A levels)
You will work towards the 60 credit subsidiary diploma
qualification in the first year of the course and achieve the
extended diploma in the second year.
Entry Requirements:
Interview required
5 GCSE's grade C or above, with a minimum grade C or above in English or Maths. Vocational qualifications in relevant subjects will be accepted as GCSE equivalent. Alternatively, successful completion of a BTEC level 2 diploma at merit grade is also acceptable. You will be required to successfully pass an interview with a demonstration of enthusiasm and commitment towards the subject area and bring evidence of written work. Individual cases will be considered on their own merits.
Assessment:
The work on the course is project/assignment based, and assessment is continuous throughout the course. Some units will be subject to external assessment. Each unit will be assessed and awarded with a final grade of pass, merit or distinction.
Progression from this course:
An Extended Diploma course is equivalent to three A levels. When you successfully complete this course you could go on to a Foundation degree, further training in industry, or a BA Degree course. You may also go directly to employment in related aspects of the industry, including a junior role in the theatre, television and event as you will be equipped with the skills required to apply for work as part of a theatre or live event production team.

Course Costs:
All students on full-time courses will need to pay a materials / resources fee. Details will be provided before enrolment. If you are under 19 on 31st August in the year you begin your programme, you will not have to pay tuition or registration fees for your course. For students aged 19 or over, there will be a tuition fee (depends on the course) for each year of the course as well as a registration fee (which includes exam fees). However, many students will be eligible for reduced fees and / or financial support towards the costs. Click here for detailed information.
