Full-Time courses for 16-18 School Leavers are Free.
If you are studying at Level 1 or 2 AND you meet the Eligible Benefit criteria tuition fees will be waived. (Registration Fees will still apply). If you are studying at Level 3 AND you meet the Eligible Benefit criteria AND are aged between 19 and 23, tuition fees will be waived. Tuition fees will not be waived for students aged over 23 studying a Level 3 or higher course, however these students may qualify for a 24+ Advanced Learning Loan.

Course Content: In Film Studies you get the opportunity to learn
how to analyse film and sound like a true film critic. Armed with
new terminology you will also learn how to write a screenplay and
produce a short film.
For your examination you will have to answer 3 questions. One on
British cinema of the sixties, one on the film industry and the
last on film remakes.
Trips will feature in Film and in the past we have been to the
cinema, the Cornerhouse and New York. Entry Qualification: For
entry onto this course, you are required to have achieved at least
5 GCSEs at C grade or above, including a C in English Language.
Special Features: You will learn from a wide range of methods from
film screenings to film making and from storyboarding to
screenwriting. Course Format: You will have a coursework portfolio
to put together which includes a written analysis alongside a short
film, screenplay or storyboard as well as an exam to sit in
May.
Throughout the course you will also have a series of progress
reviews to check you are on the right track. Progression: Students
must achieve a minimum grade D to progress onto A2.
Many past students have gone to University to study film studies or
film/media production and have ended up as teachers, journalists,
camera operators.
