Safe shot course
This product does not have fixed starting dates and/or places.
This one day course is ideal if you have little or no clay
pigeon shooting experience and is designed to guide you through
some of the main theories and practical skills associated with safe
shooting practice. The second part of the day is a real hands on
experience supervised and supported by a qualified and experienced
member of our Countryside team
What will I do on the course?
Theory
- Introductions
- Intro to shotguns/ components and functions/ types
- Intro to cartridges/ types/ sizes
- Laws and legislation
- Shotgun safety in the field
Practical
- Clay pigeon shooting
- Re-group and assess achievement
- In-depth shooting coaching
- 2nd Clay pigeon shooting
- Wrap up and asses…

What qualifications do I need?
None. This course is open to anyone over the age of 16. On successful completion of the course you will be awarded a South Staffordshire College certificate of achievement

You can choose from any one of three different dates: 25th January 2014 15th March 2014 17th May 2014

At our Rodbaston Campus
How long does the course last?
Saturday 1 day course 9am to 4.30pm
What could I do after completing the course?
On completion you may wish to enrol onto our full time Countryside Management programme. Full time and part time options are available from September 2014
How will I be assessed?
There is no formal assessment on this course
What equipment will I need?
All specialist equipment will be provided by the college but you will need a file, paper and writing implements to assist you in the classroom sessions and sturdy outdoor clothes and footwear for the practical session
