Who is this course for?

If you have an interest in IT and want to pursue a career using technology, then this is the course for you.

What will I do on the course?

This course will introduce you to a number of software applications used for both personal and business use including desktop publishing, using mobile devices and multimedia. You will study a range of topics which may include:

• Using the internet
• Using email
• How to use design software
• How to use imaging software
• Desk top publishing
• How to use multimedia software
• How to use spreadsheet software
• How to use website software
• Using mobile communications
• Presentation software
• Word processing software
• Improving productivity
• IT user fundamentals
• IT software fundamentals

In addition, you will learn skills that are required in any career choice, including health & safety, confidence building, social and practical skills, and English and Maths.

What qualifications do I need?

• 3 GCSEs Grade E or above
• You should have a strong interest in working in IT and demonstrate a commitment to succeed

Further Education:

• BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Information Technology
• Progress onto any Level 2 programme

Learners may be required to purchase small items such as personal stationery and USB stick. Prices and details will be discussed at interview. Bursary funds may be available to help with additional costs.
