Hairdressing Beauty Therapy Diploma Level 1

Who is this course for?

If you have an interest in hair and beauty and would like a 1 year introduction to the variety of jobs available within the hair and beauty industry then this course is for you.

What will I do on the course?

You will have the opportunity to learn the basic skills required to be a Hairdresser. In addition, you will learn skills that are required in any career choice, including health & safety, confidence building, social and practical skills, and English and Maths. This course is based on completing a number of modules which could include:

• Health & safety
• Plaiting and twisting
• Styling women's hair
• Gent's styling
• Reception duties
• Creating an image using colour
• Hand care

What qualifications do I need?

• 3 GCSEs Grade E or above
• You should have a strong interest in working in the hair and beauty industry and demonstrate a commitment to succeed

Are there any additional costs?

Learners are required to purchase a basic tool kit and uniform in order to participate in the course. Prices and details will be discussed at interview. Bursary funds may be available to help with additional costs.
