This course

This course is based on the final year of our BSc (Honours) Events Management. It allows you to top your current qualifications to honours degree level.

You can apply for this course if you have a • higher national diploma • foundation degree • equivalent in a relevant subject.

The events and leisure industries are an important part of cultural and business activity in the UK and overseas. They include private, public and voluntary organisations.

This course meets the increasing demand for graduates with management skills in planning and organising events. It prepares you for a career in events management. It has a general focus to give you wide career options and does not specialise in one area.

You study events theory, policy and practice integrated with business management. We develop your understanding of the planning and management of events and other leisure activities.

Your learning involves taking part in seminars, workshops and projects in our modern facilities at the City Campus.

An important part of your work involves projects and business simulation. Through these, you experience the part venues play in the leisure industry and in events such as • sporting events • concerts • festivals • corporate events • business conferences • weddings.

The course focuses on the events and leisure industry, but the broader analytical and personal skills you develop are applicable to many careers.
