Focussing on speaking and listening, but also developing your reading and writing skills, you will have the opportunity to gain confidence and develop skills in your language of choice over time. Courses run in 10 week ‘blocks’ on a term-by-term basis, with re-enrolment due at the end of each course for the following term. As a rough guide, beginners courses are for the novice; intermediate at GCSE level; Advanced at A level standard whilst conversation classes are for confident learners wishing to explore and develop their skills.…

Your tutor will help you find the right class.
All courses will have an induction session on the start
date, in order to assess the suitability of the courses for all
learners, allow you to meet the tutors, complete any forms and ask
any questions you may have. There is no charge for the induction
session. This is shown as ‘+1’ in the ‘weeks’ column.
You will need to attend this session in order to discuss what you
want from the course with the tutor, and to establish a plan for
your learning. There will also be an opportunity to ask for any
extra support you may need, discuss progression opportu-nities or
ask for advice and guidance.
We will make every effort to start, and complete, your
course. However, there are a range of circumstances which may
prevent us from being able to deliver the advertised courses.
In the case of low class numbers, staff sickness, industrial
action, severe weather conditions, or any circumstance which may
affect the Health & Safety of staff or learners, we may decide
to cancel a session or a whole course.
In these cases, we will refund learners for any complete missed
sessions, or offer an extra session to complete a course.
Concessions may be available but evidence of
entitlement to the benefits listed will be needed before
concessions are applied.

Aged 16-18 on 31/08/2012
Unemployed and in receipt of Income Support, Housing Benefit, Council Tax Benefit, or dependant of Working Tax Credits claimant (NOT Child Tax Credit) – (declaration form required)
The course is Skills for Life English or Maths, inc GCSE
