Basic Construction Skills Wood Occupations Level 1 Course Details In order to achieve the certificate you need to complete 13 credits from a range of units covering: basic tooling site carpentry skills and/or bench joinery skills. A Course for The course is suitable for 16 year olds and upwards who have no previous experience or knowledge of the construction industry. The course gives you a general training in construction skills and will prepare you for seeking employment in the construction industry. Entry Requirements Absolutely no previous experience required. Applicants need to be reasonably fit and keen to follow a career in the industry. Assessment This course is predominantly practical with a series of tasks that are tutor assessed. Some knowledge questions require to be completed, mainly around safety, but these can be completed orally if necessary. Learning Outcome City & Guilds 6218 is a national recognised certificate that will allow access to further study at a higher level.
