The Programme

This course covers a wide range of both theoretical and practical aspects of nail services. The course will include all aspects of nail extensions including liquid and powder acrylic; gel; fibreglass and coloured acrylics. You will also cover sculpting; nail art, including 3D embedding (into acrylic or gel); airbrushing and electric filing. Along with this you will also learn all the relevant anatomy and health and safety. Part of the course will also cover other relevant skills required in the nail industry such as reception, client communication and the selling and promoting of services and products. Final assessments are based on practical work and the submission of a portfolio.

This is an exciting step to either further your qualifications improving employability or as a stand alone career as a nail technician in a growing industry.

Entry Requirements

This course is available for learners aged 17+. This is a progression route from Level 2 Beauty Therapy or a recognised qualification in manicure and pedicure.

Costs

The course is free for all learners aged 16-19, additional costs include text books, kits and uniform, more details will be given at interview.

Progression

On successful completion of the course you may apply for Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Techniques or Level 3 Diploma in Spa Therapies. Alternatively you can enter into employment in the beauty or nail technician industry in a variety of posts including beauty or nail salons; cruise liners; media or photographic work; teaching and assessing or as a mobile technician.
