PRINCE2® Practitioners Conversion

Overview

Course duration: 3 days.

Suitable for delegates who have completed the PRINCE2 Foundation examination within the past six months either with Hemsley Fraser or elsewhere and wish to upgrade to the Practitioner level and sit the Practitioner examination.

This is an intensive three-day course where delegates will be working through sample Objective Testing Practitioner Exam. To gain the most out of this course, having had some recent practical experience of managing projects in the interim would be helpful.

Pre-course Activity

Delegates must have previously passed the Foundation examination and are expected to refresh their PRINCE2 knowledge before attending this programme as this programme is designed to prepare delegates to pass the practitioner exam, rather than teaching the PRINCE2 method itself.

• • The 7 PRINCE2 principles: Continued business justification. Learn from experience, Defined roles and responsibilities, Manage by stages, Manage by exception, Focus on products, Tailor to suit the project environment
  • The 7 PRINCE2 themes: Business Case, Organisation, Quality, Plans, Risk, Change, Progress
  • The 7 PRINCE2 processes: Starting up a Project, Initiating a Project, Planning, Directing a Project, Controlling a Stage, Managing Product Delivery, Managing a Stage Boundary, Closing a Project.
  • Tailoring PRINCE2 to the Project Environment
  • The OGC PRINCE2 manual– please remember to bring your manual with you if you took the Foundation exam using the 09 version of PRINCE2
• Practitioner examination techniques
• Sample questions
• The PRINCE2 practitioner examination. The last 2.5 hours of the course is the practitioner exam
• • It’s an objective test exam
  • 9 questions, with a scenario background and appendices
  • Each of the 9 questions is worth 12
  • An overall score of score 59+ out of a possible 108 is required to pass
  • 2.5 hour duration
  • It is suggested candidates spend about 15 minutes on each question.
  • All questions should be answered from a PRINCE2 Project Management perspective.
  • Open-book examination (only the PRINCE2 Manual is allowed).
