Overview
Course duration: 3 days.
As a PRINCE2 qualified project manager, you know all about the UK's leading project management methodology. However, do you want to learn the other skills fundamental to successful project management? The APMP qualification focuses on what makes a real difference to projects such as leading, motivating, managing and building the team, as well as earned value management.
The APM is now introducing a new path to the APMP qualification that identifies the common ground between the PRINCE2 and APMP and only focuses on the APM Body of Knowledge (BoK) specifics. This new way of getting APMP qualified will give you the same status as people who qualified via the existing route but this approach will save some considerable time for PRINCE2 practitioners.
The focus of this intensive three-day course is to provide you with a level of knowledge that will enhance your personal effectiveness in project management and give you a professional qualification that is recognised worldwide.
Successful candidates are able to participate in projects from individual assignments through to large capital projects.
APMP is a qualification that successful candidates can carry from one job to another or from one industry to another.
The sessions will include discussions, exercises, case studies and example questions. This course recognises the prior learning that a PRINCE2 Practitioner has attained and only covers topics from the APM Body of Knowledge that havent already been assessed within the PRINCE2 practitioner exam.Delegates will be able to understand all elements of the APMP syllabus, get to grips with the specific examination language, and learn strategies and tactics for approaching the examination.
The examination consists of a two-hour essay style paper with fewer questions than the existing APMP exam.
The course is fully accredited and approved by the APM, and Hemsley Fraser is an APM Accredited Training Provider.
Is it right for me?
Suitable for current PRINCE2 Practitioners managing projects in any industry already using some formal project management processes and methods who wish to complete the APMP examination via an intensive three-day programme.
It is also essential that you provide proof of your PRINCE2 Practitioner status such as your certificate, or candidate number which will be checked prior to you being allowed to sit the APMP shortened examination.
What will I learn?
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Understand all of the concepts, techniques and processes in the APMP for PRINCE2 Practitioners syllabus
- Use practical skills and techniques to help further your career in project management.
- Achieve the APMP qualification, the UK s leading project management qualification.
Pre-course Activity
Delegates are required to complete approximately 15 to 20 hours of work in advance of the course from the APM Body of Knowledge manual and CD, both of which will be posted to delegates prior to the course.
