Course Description:

The DCNI-2 course is a hands-on training that teaches you how to implement an enterprise Data Center routing and switching infrastructure with the next-generation Cisco Nexus 7000 and 5000 platforms. The first 3 days will focus on the Nexus 7000, with an overview of the Nexus 5000 and FCoE on Day 4. This course provides a technical overview of the Nexus platform architecture, deployment, and operations, including Virtual Device Contexts, Layer 2 and Layer 3 features, QoS, and security. You will explore the features of NX-OS and the Nexus platform by performing hands-on labs using a Nexus 7000 simulator.

At the end of this course, delegates will be able to:

• Deploy, operate and troubleshoot a Nexus 7000 in a datacenter environment
• Deploy the Nexus 7000 platform as an Ethernet switch
• Learn the Nexus 7000 hardware platform, chassis, modules, Supervisor, power cooling, Hardware HighAvailability
• Discover the NXOS operating system including architecture, licensing and differences to IOS/ION, Software HighAvailability
• Introduction to VDC (Virtual device contexts) and VRF (Virtual Routing and Forwarding Instances) and their differences
• Configure Layer 3 services like FRHP, SVI, routing protocols
• Explain how the Nexus 5000 functions within SAN and LAN environmants
• Learn SNMP, XML, NETFLOW, installation, upgrades (including ISSU)
