Childrens Book Illustration, Short Course Programme

This ten-week course will introduce you to the world of children's books. With guidance you will create your own illustrated story for children, focusing on the internal workings of a picturebook.

Using a combination of group and one to one tuition, you will learn about character development, visual voice, story structure, sequence, pagination, page design, defining your audience and advice on how to get published.

The course is suitable for everyone from beginners to the more experienced wanting to build their portfolio, and writers who want to learn how to illustrate. It is also ideal for anyone who wants to explore the writing and illustration process so that they can create unique work for family and friends.

This is a practical course involving drawing, writing and design. You will leave the course with an understanding of how to create stories and illustrate children's picturebooks.
