Why choose this course?

The course is suited to students who are motivated and have a passion for a career in business. It is very demanding, so you will need to be good at time management to balance working and studying.

The taught elements of the course will enhance your business knowledge, whilst the two year placement allows students to apply their knowledge and skills in a practical setting. Both will make you highly employable.

Your placement company will cover your tuition fees during Year Two and Year Three. They will also pay you a bursary to cover living expenses. Placement companies that have sponsored the course previously include:

  • Rolls-Royce
  • Tesco
  • McDonalds
  • Barclays
  • Toyota.

This course provides a fantastic opportunity for students, as many tend to progress quicker and graduate with less debt.

Students have been extremely successful at graduation, with 100% securing employment or deciding to undertake further study*. Many of our students stay on with their placement companies after graduation, securing well-paid positions.

What our students say

"It's a unique opportunity – and the experience gained on this course is much more valuable than a degree from many other universities."

What will I study?

Year One - Full-time study at Nottingham Business School

The first year of the course is full-time at Nottingham Business School and provides a thorough grounding in personal / professional skills and business disciplines. During the year you will:

  • Gain insights into core business functions and their operations.
  • Develop your skills for study and work, and understand recruitment processes and requirements.

Towards the end of this year, students are introduced to the range of companies offering placements for Year Two and Year Three of the course. Progress to Year Two is on merit and depends not only on academic performance, but also on your performance at the company selection event and the subsequent company interview and selection process. The placement process is competitive and ultimately the responsibility for securing a placement will be yours.
