CAA Level 1 Diploma in Plastering

Is this course for me?

This course is aimed at new entrants and provides a good basic introduction for people new to the occupation of plastering.

What qualifications or skills do I require to study this course?

Minimum three GCSEs Grade D or equivalent. Enrolment is subject to a successful Interview and satisfactory basic skills test result.

What does the course involve?

Classroom and workshop training to gain practical skills and underpinning knowledge for progression to NVQ levels 1 in plastering. This course consists of practical training and phase test, assignments, coursework and knowledge test.

There are 6 modules split into knowledge and practical sections:

Carry out safe working practices
Information, quantities and communicating with others
Building methods and construction technology
Prepare background surfaces and plaster materials
Apply plaster materials to internal backgrounds
Produce components from moulds

What option will be open to me if I successfully complete the course? Progression to a Construction Award in Plastering or a Plastering NVQ Level 1 subject to suitable employment.
