This programme is for those who are new to construction and would like to have a basic grounding in a particular trade area; Plumbing, Brickwork, Carpentry and Joinery, Plastering, Painting & Decorating. Having completed the course you would have the opportunity to progress on in your chosen trade in September.Course Details:
Once we have received your application you would meet with a member of the teaching team for a comprehensive interview that would match your interests to a particular trade area, qualification and answer any other questions you may have

•Plumbing – Developing pipe work skills, installing rain water systems and installing a toilet and hand basin
•Brickwork – Basic brick and block laying techniques
•Carpentry and Joinery – Introduction to tools, timber preparation and joinery techniques such as making cupboards fronts and installing skirting
•Plastering – Applying rendering and finishes
•Painting and Decorating – Preparing surfaces, applying paints and hanging wall papers

Working in the construction industry can be a very rewarding experience, not only financially but also because of the pride you can take in standing back and looking at something you have helped to build, something which many people will use and admire for years to come.
