The HNC course is a full time course, over one year and is unitised/credit based. There is a good balance of theory and practical on this course. The course is made up of 15 credits over one academic year. A further 15 credits are required to achieve the HND.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Typical applicants will be expected to have at least two Higher qualifications. Applicants should be familiar with IT and show an aptitude for the subject or have successfully completed the appropriate non-advanced College course having shown good achievement. WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?
This course is designed for students who would like to gain a general business qualification which will allow them to follow a career in the private or public sector at entry or supervisory level, or undertake study at a higher level.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
This course is mainly assessed on a continuous basis and does not include an external end-of-course examination. Coursework takes the form of essays, reports, presentations, case studies and practical projects. Most of the assessment of student work is undertaken by College staff.
PROGRESSION ROUTES / CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Progression to HND is possible on successful completion of HNC Group Award. Successful candidates may be considered for direct entry to Year 2 of an appropriate degree course. Employment opportunities may include supervisory positions.
