This is a practical multimedia course which combines creative ability with expertise in computer technology to develop communication skills in graphic design, web design and multimedia.
The course will help you to achieve a broad skills base in the areas of interactive multimedia, writing, research and communication; all of which are required by potential employers and recognised as essential in the multimedia industry. The course is well established, it has been running for over 10 years and has a history of producing graduates with the technical and management skills that industry requires.

Throughout the course, there will be many opportunities for you to work on 'live' projects and briefs set by clients. You will be encouraged to develop your creative, imaginative and critical skills within a design context while gaining professional practice experience. As you move through the course, there are opportunities to specialise, this takes place through option choices in the second year, where you can select live industry projects.

The multimedia course is specifically targeted towards designing for online multimedia and understanding of design concepts. Emphasis is placed on creative origination, problem solving and consideration of commercial products and processes. The course is delivered through studio based, student-centred, responsive teaching & learning, with access to a wide range of digital production facilities. The emphasis is on creativity and experimentation, culminating in the final year with a substantial piece of self initiated work complemented by commercially led briefs and professional practice.

Year 1 lays the groundwork for the innovative exploration of ideas; ideas that have a strong contextual foundation.
