Level 4 Construction & the Built Environment (Building Services Engineering) HNC Year 1

This modular course is designed for people employed in the building services sector of the construction industry as technicians in design & installation.

This course consists of the following:

• Design principles and application for construction and the built environment Level 4
• Group project in the construction industry Level 5
• Health, safety and welfare for construction and the built environment Level 4
• Application of scientific principles to building services engineering Level 4
• Applied mathematics for construction and the built environment Level 4
• Personal and professional development Level 5
• Low pressure hot water (LPHW) heating for non-domestic buildings Level 4
• Air conditioning for industrial and commercial buildings Level 4

Students must be employed within the building services sector of the construction industry and have ONE of the following:

• At least two 'A' Levels at 'A2', in a related subject area
• BTEC Diploma or Extended Diploma in a related subject area
• Advanced Diploma with relevant Principal or Additional and Specialist Learning (ASL)
• A building services-related craft qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 3
• International Baccalaureate
