Course Aim
The aim of the Emergency First Aid at Work Course is to provide the learner with the essential skills and knowledge required to carry out emergency treatment required to save a life until further qualified assistance arrives to take over. This course is also meets the Health and Safety Executive (First Aid) regulations 1981 for employers for first aiders in small low risk environments. This course can be tailored to any work environment including schools.

Assessment
The course is subject to ongoing assessment by the instructor throughout the course. There is no final assessment. The instructor observes the learners practice sessions as the training progresses to ensure the required level of understanding and skill is reached.
Certification
All learners who successfully complete the course will be awarded a certificate approved for Emergency First Aid at Work which is valid for 3 years from the date of the course.
On Site Requirements
For the course to be run on site the following
requirements need to be met:
A room that will comfortably accommodate all of your learners, to
be seated and allow for practical demonstrations and practice on
the floor.
Course Contains:
- The role of the first-aider
- Use of available equipment
- Actions in an emergency
- Administer first aid to a casualty who is:
- Unconscious
- Requires Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- Who is choking
- Wounded and bleeding
- Suffering from shock
- Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries (including small cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters)
Course Duration: 1 Day (6 'Contact Hours' total). Training must be completed within 4 weeks.
