Manicure & Pedicure

Training in professional manicure and pedicure skills, leading to industry recognised diplomas. You need not have had any previous experience, as we will teach you everything you need to know.This is one of the key skills in the Beauty Therapy industry, and essentail for anyone wishing to work in a salon or spa. The manicure skills are also an esential pre-requisite to the Nail Technology certificate.
The Course Includes:

• Maintenance and care procedures for the nails and skin of the hands and feet
• The application of colour to the nails on both the hands and feet
• French manicure technique
• American manicure technique
• Single layer varnishing
• Multi-layer varnishing
• Paraffin wax and warm oil treatments for nourishment
• The study of the structure of the nail
• Contra-indications to manicure and pedicure
• Client counselling/consultation techniques

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:• The minimum age for entry to this course is 18 years - no exceptions. There is no upper age limit.• No previous experience required, although a good general education is essential for this demanding course
• An excellent level of English is required. You must be able to speak, read, write and understand English fluently. You may be asked to sit an entry test.

INCLUDED IN YOUR FEES:• One uniform (one white tunic top and one pair of white salon trousers, plus a tabard)• Manicure and pedicure kit for home practice and class use
• Set of brand new towels for class use
• Ring-binder folder with course notes
• Use of modern salon equipment and accessories for class use

NOT INCLUDED (BUT REQUIRED):• A pair of white salon shoes• Stationary items such as pens, note paper, folders for presenting your work etc.

Qualifications:

VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Nail Treatments D1006 (includes Manicure & Pedicure)(VTCT International qualifications are recognised in the UK and Europe, and most English-speaking countries, therefore they are recommended for those wishing to work overseas at some point in their career)
