Course Aim & Objective:
To enable you to prepare your bodies in order to work with maximum comfort in Yoga and to improve your ability to develop a relaxed approach to Yoga practice. To help you develop a better understanding of alternative options or modifications to suit your own practice ability. Develop better control over your bodies through practice.
Ability to practice and experience limbering techniques, to make use of co-ordination of health and movement, to modify and develop postures according to your own ability. Encouragement to experience the impact of health in a posture at different levels. Practice Yoga poses and understand their impact on the body.
Assessment:
You are encouraged to practice limbering often. Learners in any Yoga class are at different starting points determined by various factors like age, health and experience. Yoga is not competitive and can, in most cases, be adapted to suit the individual.
Course Syllabus:
Develop a better understanding of alternative options and modifications to suit your own abilities. Develop better body control through practice. Practice poses and understand their impact on the body and the benefits gained. Progress with confidence through a range of movements from simple to complex. Recognise efficient breathing habits. Progress from basic to 'pranayama' using postures including sequences. Experience deeper relaxation with awareness of centres of energy in the body.
