Description

Please complete the attached " Health and Fitness Questionnaire" and inform your tutor verbally if you have any health concerns.  Please bring the completed questionnaire to your first class. You are asked to complete this questionnaire once a year.

Learn a series of exercise sequences, postures and pranayama, which are reinforced and practised during class.

Learner & Entry Requirements:

Course Aim & Objective: 

To enable you to prepare your bodies in order to work with maximum comfort in Yoga and to improve your ability to develop a relaxed approach to Yoga practice.

You should be able to: practice and experience limbering techniques; make use of co-ordination of health and movement; modify/develop postures according to your own ability.

Assessment: 

You are encouraged to practice limbering often.  Learners in any Yoga class will be at different starting points determined by various factors like age, health and experience.  Yoga is not competitive.  It can, in most cases, be adapted to suit the individual.

Course Syllabus:  

Practice limbering techniques prior to traditional asana (postures).  Practice loosening and develop ability to break down and watch points of posture using breathing techniques.  Understand the need for precautions and modifications at a basic level.  Make use of and practice the breathing co-ordination and movement.  Experience the relaxation pose and simple practice.
