Gain the skills to give a basic Shiatsu treatment.

Learner & Entry Requirements:  No previous knowledge assumed.  By the end of the class you should be able to give a basic Shiatsu treatment, incorporating six Acupressure points, to family and friends.  Both male and female learners are welcome in our classes and all learners are expected to actively participate in practical massage sessions.  Please wear comfortable clothing.

General & First Session: 

Please wear comfortable trousers, bring two towels for comfort, and pen and paper.  KAE is unable to offer refunds for any equipment, materials or books if the class is subsequently closed.

Introduce you to the basic theoretical ideas of Oriental medicine and learn some basic Acupressure techniques.  By the end of the class you should be able to practice a basic Shiatsu treatment.

Assessment:  

Observation and Question & Answer sessions.

Course Syllabus:

The theory of Oriental Medicine and Shiatsu, including: facial diagnosis, five elements, Yin Yang theory, history of Shiatsu, meridians and pressure points

Learn a simple practical Shiatsu sequence, and some first aid Acupressure points.
