Please complete the attached "Health and Fitness Questionnaire" and inform your tutor verbally if you have any health concerns. Please bring the completed questionnaire to your first class. You are asked to complete this questionnaire once a year.
Learn to use your muscles effectively, develop breathing techniques and align your body correctly. This form of body-conditioning helps to protect your back and strengthen deep muscles.
Learner & Entry Requirements:
No experience required. A mixed ability class, suitable for all ages, although learners should be reasonably fit and mobile.
General & First Session:
Comfortable, free-moving clothing, e.g. tracksuit pants, tights, leotards, …

If you already have a mat please bring it but do not purchase one specifically for the course until after the first class. KAE is unable to offer refunds for any material, equipment or books if the course is subsequently closed.
Course Aim & Objective:
To introduce the Pilates technique to develop flexibility, strength, body awareness, fitness, wellness and body-conditioning.
Completion of an hours Pilates-style class at your own level.
Assessment:
Observation and discussion, both individual and class.
Course Syllabus:
The Pilates method works to strengthen the centre, lengthen the spine, build muscle tone and increase body awareness and flexibility. The course is a gentle introduction to Pilates terms, techniques and exercises. Learn ten Pilates exercises, choreographing class into a flowing hour of exercise, building the level, variations and adding new techniques and exercises with progression and development of the class.
