Description
Please complete the attached " Health and Fitness Questionnaire" and inform your tutor verbally if you have any health concerns. Please bring the completed questionnaire to your first class. You are asked to complete this questionnaire once a year.
Learn to use your muscles effectively, develop breathing techniques, and how to align your body correctly. This form of body conditioning helps to protect your back and strengthen deep muscles.
Learner & Entry Requirements:
No experience required. Comfortable clothing, which is easy to move in. For mature learners and those who prefer to work at a slower pace.

Comfortable free-moving clothing (e.g. tracksuit pants, tights, leotards and t-shirts). No shoes required. Mats are provided, but you may use own mat if preferred. Do not purchase a mat specifically for the course until after the first class. KAE is unable to offer refunds for any materials, equipment or books if the course is subsequently closed.
Course Aim & Objective:
Introduce you to Pilates techniques and develop flexibility, strength, body awareness, fitness, body-conditioning and wellness. Complete an hours Pilates-style class at your own level to include technique, strength and flexibility.
Assessment:
The tutor assesses individual progress and answers any questions that may arise.
Course Syllabus:
Introduction to Pilates technique and exercises:
- Gentle introduction to Pilates terms and technique
- Ten Pilates exercises
- Choreography of class into a flowing hour of exercise
- Building the level, variation, and adding new technique and exercises with progression and development of class.
