Tractor Driving and Related Operations

For those with some basic tractor driving ability who wish to achieve the NPTC Level 2 Award in Tractor Driving and related operations. NB if you are an absolute beginner, you may not be able to gain the Certificate of Competence within the five days - we would recommend taking our 2 day 'Tractor Driving for Beginners' course first.

Course Content

A five day course which is intended for those who have some basic tractor driving ability and who wish to achieve the nationally recognised National Proficiency Council Certificate of Competence in tractor driving and handling. The fifth day is normally the test day, unless further skills development is required.

You will receive instruction to the NPTC standard in all aspects of tractor handling including:

• Trailer work - hitching, unhitching and reversing
• Basic PTO safety
• Loader work
• Safe working practices
• Three point linkage
• PTO use and safety

You will be advised to take the test at the end of the course or after a period of practical skills development on your own holding.

Entry Requirements

Basic driving skills. Tetanus protection is recommended.
