The Extended Diploma offers greater breadth of study in Horticulture and follows on from the Diploma in Horticulture (HR213)

This course will provide you with essential horticulture skills and is suitable for students of all ages who wish to enter this specialist area of employment. The qualification provides you with a sound practical knowledge of horticulture and is held in high regard by all sectors within the horticultural industry. Completion of the Extended Diploma will also enable you to continue onto Higher Education.

The course finishes at Easter, allowing you to enter the employment market when your new skills are in greatest demand.

Units include:

  • Principles of plant and soil science
  • Industry experience
  • Horticultural skills and plant knowledge
  • Machinery operation
  • Applied plant science
  • Business and management
  • Garden design
  • Propagation skills
  • Tree management/arboriculture

23 weeks

College Days - Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays (TBC).

Entry Requirements

To do this top up Extended Diploma, you will need to have completed the Level 3 90 Credit Diploma (HR213) or a Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma.
