Working closely with the Cogent Sector Skills Council, employers and further and higher education colleges, Edexel has developed this exciting new qualification to provide a clear, structured route into a range of careers in the environmental sustainability and related sectors.
Course Content
Level 3 Diploma - One Year, full-time, four three days per
week
Level 3 Extended Diploma - Two years, full-time, four three days
per week (yr 1), three days per week (yr 2)
The first year of the Level 3 Extended Diploma is shared with the
Level 3 Diploma course. Progression from year 1 to year 2 is
dependent on satisfactory completion of year 1.
The course is delivered through a combination of lectures,
practicals, workshops, seminars, field visits and visiting
speakers.
Entry Requirements
Two years at Kingston Maurward. Lectures, demonstrations,
practical instruction, visits and a study tour. Students will have
the opportunity to gain a range of additonal qualifications.
Days:
Year 1: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday,
Year 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Next Steps/Employment
Level 4 qualification, such as a Foundation Degree or degree programme in a related subject area, including geography and environmental science. Careers are available in a wide range of industries, for example as specialists in environmental protection, water pollution control and waste management. The course also equips students for careers in more diverse areas such as facilities management, local authority management and tourism.

Study tour in second year: approx £300
Assessment fees for some additional qualifications - usually between £80 and £150 per qualification for certificates of competence.
For some additonal qualifications undertaken by students aged 19
and over some contribution towards the cost of training may be
required.
