Description

The Advanced Database course is for learners who have a good basic knowledge of the Access programme. This course is also suitable for those learners who work with Access quite extensively in the work place.

Qualification

BCS Level 3 Module - Database Software

This unit carries 6 credits towards a higher qualification and when completed with the other three ECDL Advanced units will enable the student to apply for ECDL Expert status.

Course Content

The course consists of the following:

Building tables; Understanding a little about SQL; Action queries; Cross tab queries

Total queries; Sub forms & Sub reports; Option buttons; Macros

Although homework is not set, it is expected that learners will practise the database functions between classes. There is a one hour British Computer Society exam at the end of the course.

Entry Requirements

Learners are advised to take the Database level 2 course (6 weeks) if they have no experience of Access, before undertaking this course.
