Cisco Part 1 Networking 1 and Networking 2 - also covers first half of CCNA course

This course follows the Cisco Certified Network Associate 'Discovery' syllabus offering a hands-on approach to learning rather than detailed theory. The course consists of two 18-week semesters, 'Networking for home and small business' and 'Working at a small to medium business or ISP'.

At the end of the course students should be able to
•Plan and install a small network and connect it to the Internet
•Troubleshoot network and Internet connectivity
•Configure networks and shared networked resources
•Describe wireless technology
•Describe basic security issues
•Plan network updates

•Describe network protocols

In addition to the lectures and laboratory work carried out at College, teaching materials are available to students over the Internet.

Students are given a certificate upon successful completion of each semester and will be in a good position to take the Cisco CCENT (640-822) exam. The exam can be taken at the College on-line examination centre.
