Reading Recovery and Literacy Leadership MA

This masters degree will:

• provide professional development in the area of Reading Recovery for experienced teachers
• impart a deeper understanding of the processes involved in learning to read, write and spell, the sources of difficulties, and approaches to intervention
• enable you to read research critically and to design and conduct your own small-scale research.

Entry requirements

A good honours degree in a relevant subject or the equivalent, plus Qualified Teacher Status and experience of mainstream class teaching at Key Stage 1. You must normally be based in the UK or Ireland and be seconded by your local authority, supported by a school or school cluster, or intend to function as an independent, self-supporting teacherleader in a specific area.

How are you assessed?

By coursework assignments, including two case studies and a portfolio, and a 10,000-word report.

Attendance

Mixed mode, including morning sessions working with children in Reading Recovery, afternoon fieldwork sessions, and full-day and evening face-to-face taught sessions.
