This module introduces the principles enshrined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and applies them to issues of teaching and learning for citizenship. It develops understandings of multiple identities and cosmopolitan citizenship. It explores the relationship between citizenship and identities. It applies the principles of the UN CRC to education settings with respect to developing policies for race equality and democracy. It explores the implications of the rights to protection and provision as well as participation. It looks at legislative frameworks that guide schools and teachers.
