What do I need to get on this course?
Participants need or working towards the 17th Edition wiring regulations and have passed City & Guilds 236 part two together with or working towards City & Guilds 2330 Level 3 or equivalent qualification, and currently working within the industry.
Proof of qualifications will be required to be produced at an interview with the course tutor prior to enrolment. To complete the QCF, a practical performance assessment such as the AM2 or equivalent must also have been completed. There may be exemptions to this if you are a practicing operative.
How will I be assessed?
QCF’s were introduced by the Government to assess occupational competence in the workplace. The QCF is completed while you are at work, via a log book and supported by evidence. Evidence is often in the form of photos, risk assessments, job sheets, test result sheets and any other relevant documents. The Logbook is then assessed by a qualified assessor from the college. A number of assessment visits will also take place during your training.
Where does it lead?
The topics covered will support entry to higher level programmes such as Electrical Engineering and Electronic Engineering.
